The Position

The Fleet Associate supports the Fleet Operations with staff shuttle service, general fleet maintenance, and parking lot oversight. The Fleet Associate ensures all such responsibilities are carried out in a safe manner, in coordination with Management, Human Resources, and Risk Management.

What You'll Do

  • Shuttles passengers (staff) to/from offsite designated parking areas to/from LAFH Main Campus
  • Regulates parking and traffic in assigned lot restricting unauthorized vehicles and providing entry to authorized vehicles
  • Counts parked vehicles and holds required spaces for reservations; places appropriate signage when lot is full; ensures that company vehicles are in the correct locations and repark company vehicles as needed
  • Provides directions, parking alternatives and campus information upon request to necessary parties
  • Prepares temporary permits as required for visitors (including persons dropping off deliveries)
  • Ensures parking placards are displayed on windshield of vehicles in lot before and after attendant hours
  • Patrols assigned lots for suspicious activity and reports such to operations management staff 
  • Maintains logs, reports, and other documentation of observed violations
  • Provides light vehicle detailing and/or maintenance of company fleet vehicles including washing vehicle windows, washing the vehicle, vacuuming, checking tire pressure/inflating tires, battery recharging, and checking/filling fluid levels (washer, radiator, oil, etc.)
  • Completes reports or forms required by department
  • Assists with other parking related projects as assigned by supervisor
  • Additional tasks, projects, and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

What You're Skilled At

  • Basic knowledge of local parking laws, rules, and ordinances Knowledge of safe route driving
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to provide light vehicle detailing/maintenance
  • Excellent customer service; skill in courteous communication with public
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Other

  • Must have and maintain a valid California Driver’s License and auto insurance in good standing
  • Obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Ability to pass post offer Tuberculosis (TB) clearances
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical examination
  • Use of a personal vehicle to travel between worksites and other locations may be required
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods

Experience

  • High School Diploma preferred
  • Six (6) months of shuttle passenger driving experience preferred
